Bernardo Montanez, Jr.

Montanez, Jr. Bernardo (Berny Mac), age 42 of Jersey City gone but never forgotten, died September 1, 2020. Berny born on June 30, 1978 was a dearly loved father, brother, son, uncle, and friend. Berny was known for his humbleness, his beautiful smile, and his humor. Berny loved music and loved dancing. He is survived by his son’s Gabriel Montanez, Fabian Montanez, Bernardo Montanez III, and his stepdaughter Leana Melendez, his brother Gabriel Montanez, his father Bernardo Montanez, Sr., his nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 7:00PM – 9:00PM at Plaza Funeral Home, 445 Monmouth Street, Jersey City, NJ, followed by where he will be laid to rest the following morning Thursday, September 10, 2020 between 10:00AM – 11:00AM at Bay View Cemetery 321 Garfield Avenue, Jersey City, NJ. Funeral home parking available in the St. Anthony's Parking lot on 6th street.

I FALL ASLEEP IN THE FULL AND CERTAIN HOPE THAT MY SLUMBER SHALL NOT BE BROKEN; AND THAT, THOUGH I BE ALL-FORGETTING, YET SHALL I NOT BE ALL-FORGOTTEN, BUT CONTINUE THAT LIFE IN THE THOUGHTS AND DEEDS OF THOSE I HAVE LOVED.
